Radiation Suits

Normally a hazmat suit is “an overall garment worn to protect people from hazardous materials or substances, including chemicals, biological agents, or radioactive materials.” More generally, hazmat suits may provide protection from: Chemical agents. In summary, high atomic number and high-density materials such as lead, tungsten and concrete provide best effective shielding against gamma radiation against lead.

The Suit material has radiation protection similar to lead shielding, while being lightweight and flexible. The composition is described as a non-toxic polymer.


These shields the wearer from radiation alone, it can be coupled with different protective materials to block chemical and biological threats as well.
These can be treated like a normal fabric for cleaning, storage and disposal and it
significantly reduces high energy alpha and beta radiation, and reduce low energy gamma radiation. When several sheets are put together the result is a much more powerful shield, though it still cannot completely block all gamma radiation.
